After giving birth to my two children, I gained 50 lbs. From a previous weight of 100 lbs., I was a staggering 150 lbs. And with my weight gain, so went my self-esteem. I ate junk food left and right. I was a couch potato with no exercise, no healthy diet and bloated, swollen knees.
One day, I decided to go on a very rigid diet. It was so rigid in fact that I lost 24 lbs... but I was stuck there. And to top it off, depression started to kick in. I was crying a lot and for no reason at all. That was when my husband told me to go and try a gym, so I agreed. I went to all kinds of gyms, big and small. During my stay at these gyms, I was always alone and no one was guiding, encouraging or motivating me to do my best... I felt bored.
One day me and my husband passed by Fitness First in Robinson’s Place Manila. I talked to Grace, one of their membership consultants and she set up a schedule for me. I tried different exercises but never really gave it my all. That was when Ms. Mia Odron texted me to set an appointment for a physical assessment. She offered me her services as my personal trainer and I accepted.
So I attended every session that Mia set for me. She slowly and gradually increased the number of exercises we were doing. She taught me how to box, jump rope, do sit-ups and weight lifting. Through 18 sessions, I had gotten stronger and my swollen knees started disappearing.
When Mia resigned to pursue a career in nursing, I shifted my PT sessions to Alexis Jean Montemayor, who helped me continue what Mia had started.
Now after ten months of hardship, determination and with a lot of guidance and support from Alex, I’m now at 109 lbs and can go to any dress shop and fit into any small sized blouse or pants.
